- NLF kicked off a building fund, in celebration of its 25th Anniversary.

2002 |
- NLF purchased 1830 Sutter Street through an out-of-court settlement. The 1830 Sutter Capital Campaign Committee was formed.
- Received $200,000 acquisition grant from the Northern California Community Loan Fund.

2003 |
- Received $105,000 grant from the Mayor’s Office of Community Development (MOCD) for ADA upgrades.

2004 |
- Completed ADA renovations, including an exterior ramp and an adult bathroom.
- Completed renovation of the playground.
- Received $67,000 grant from MOCD for exterior renovations and seismic upgrade.

2005 |
- Received a $100,000 pledge from the Aratani Foundation.
- NLF celebrated its 30th Anniversary and raised balance of funds to cover the cost of acquiring the building.

- Co-hosted the 65th Anniversary of the American Friends Service Committee’s (AFSC) Pacific Mountain region.
- Began exterior renovations, including repairing the stucco, painting the exterior, and replacing and repairing the roof tiles.

- Organized special events in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of 1830 Sutter, including:
- Open House
- Summer Social at Yoshi’s San Francisco
- Sushi Social
- Created Story Boards consisting of personal stories/recollections of those involved in the early years of 1830 Sutter [add link].
- Completed exterior improvements.

- Began interior renovations, including woodwork and wall restorations.
- Received a $79,000 grant from the Low Income Investment Fund.
- Funds raised as of June 24, 2009: $2,096,057.
