Position: Bilingual Preschool Teacher

Job Description

  • General supervision of preschool-aged children (2 1/2 - 5 years) in a Japanese bilingual and multicultural childcare center
  • Supervise both indoor and outdoor activities
  • Plan and conduct small learning-group activities
  • Plan and lead large-group music period
  • Maintain classroom
  • Work closely with other teaching staff in a team teaching situation
  • Work with parents and staff in extracurricular activities of the program

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young children is required
  • Bilingual (Japanese and English), native Japanese speaker preferred
  • Minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education or related courses with BA desgree preferred

Salary/Benefits

  • Based on education and experience (full-time, 8 hours per day)
  • Paid vacation and sick leave provided
  • Medical and dental benefits provided after three months for full-time employee

Position: P/T After School Teacher

Job Description

  • Afternoon part-time teacher, Monday to Friday from 1:30pm - 6:00pm
  • Work with K- 5th graders in a Japanese bilingual, multicultural childcare center
  • Supervise both indoor and outdoor activities
  • Plan and conduct appropriate activities for a group of 12 - 14 students
  • Assist students with homework
  • Maintain classroom
  • Work closely with other staff and parents in extracurricular activities of the program

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with elementary school-age children
  • Ability to work in team-teaching situation is required
  • Educational background in early childhood, elementary education or related courses is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education or related courses preferred

* Immediate Opening The program runs on the public school year calendar from late August through early June

Position: Teacher

Position: Substitute Teacher

Job Description

  • General supervision of preschool-aged children (2 1/2 - 5 years) in a Japanese bilingual and multicultural childcare center
  • Must be available in the morning and/or afternoon

Qualifications

  • Responsible individuals a must
  • Previous experience working with young children or elementary aged children preferred
  • Educational background in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • If you do not have prior experience working with young children, but are very interested in becoming a substitute teacher, we require that you volunteer for a period of time until you become familiar with our routine and program.

Salary and Benefits

  • $10.00 - $ 12.00 per hour based on experience and/or education
  • Substitutes are paid monthly
